The 12 th International Day of Yoga, 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm in PES University, RR Campus on June 21, 2026 followed by the celebration of 45 th World Music Day.

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr K S Sridhar, Registrar of PES University, who extended his greetings to all participants on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, followed by lighting the lamp along with dignitaries such as Dr K S Sridhar, Registrar of PES University, Dr V Krishna, Dean of Student Affairs PES University, Prof M V Satyanarayana, Director of PES HN Campus, Shri M S Vinay Modhe, Director of BBA Sports Management and Hawaldar Nirmal Singh of NCC.

The Common Yoga Protocol of 2026 demonstrated by the Yoga faculty of PES University, Asst. Prof Basavalingamma Sajjanar and Yoga Lecturer Hema B N along with students of the Yoga Club Adhokshaja, namely Sharada Pai, Shaarvari V C, Dakshith Shetty H, Deepak S and instructed by Bhoomika M Gudenkatti, concluded with the pledge by all participants for the well-being, peace, harmony and prosperity of the world.

The students of the Yoga club Adhokshaja — Dakshith Shetty H, Shashank, Deepak S, Deep Saha, Mridula P, Chinmayee Pradeep, Saanika Sujith, Bhoomika Gudenkatti, Sharada Pai and Shaarvari V C, performed a mesmerising Rhythmic Yoga Dance, showcasing various intermediate and advanced asanas and formations.

On the occasion of PES Yogotsav inter-PES Yoga Competition which was held on January 21 st and 22 nd , 2026, winners and runners up were given their prizes. Deepak S, I PUC, PES PU College, HN Campus won the first place. Dhanush J, II PUC, PES PU College, HN Campus and Trishul Swamy, III-year engineering student were the runners up of the competition.

It was then followed by the celebration of 45 th World Music Day with medley of various genres of songs by students of BA Performing Arts—Chinmayee Nagendra, Mridula P, Sinchana, Saanika Sujith, Chinmayee Pradeep and Sharada Pai under the guidance of Dr. Sushma S V, Chairperson of Performing Arts.

The occasion was graced with presence of Shrimati Rashmi Ramachandra, Co-ordinator of BBA Sports Management and Director of Physical Education, Dr. Sushma S V, Chairperson of Performing Arts, Assistant COE Prof P S Kannan, Mr Sridhar, Physical Education Director, Professor Dr S V Venkatesh and all the Faculties and Students of PES University, RR Campus and PES PU College, HN Campus.

Dr V Krishna, Dean of Student Affairs PES University concluded the programme with vote of thanks, fondly remembering Dr M R Doreswamy, the founder of PES University. He appreciated the collective efforts of students and faculties of PES University and especially thanked Department of Physical Education, PES University and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to foster health, fitness and holistic well-being through similar initiatives in the years ahead. It was then followed by Indian National Anthem honouring the culture of Yoga and pride of India.
