PES University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PESUIMSR) successfully organized a Pulse Polio Immunization Camp on June 28, 2026. The initiative was conducted by the Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Paediatrics as part of the National Pulse Polio Immunization Programme.
The camp was aimed at strengthening immunization coverage and promoting awareness about the importance of protecting children against polio. Conducted in accordance with national immunization guidelines, the programme ensured proper cold chain maintenance, beneficiary verification, safe vaccine administration, accurate documentation, and counselling for parents and caregivers. Trained healthcare personnel carried out all activities under the supervision of faculty members.
A total of 86 eligible children received the Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the camp. The successful implementation of the programme reflected PESUIMSR’s commitment to preventive healthcare and child welfare.
The camp witnessed the active participation of faculty members, healthcare workers, nursing staff, and the PRO team. Their collaborative efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme and contributed significantly to its success.
In addition to providing immunization services, the camp served as a platform to educate parents and caregivers about the significance of timely polio vaccination and routine immunization. The awareness activities highlighted the crucial role of vaccination in preventing childhood illnesses and ensuring healthy growth and development.
Through initiatives such as the Pulse Polio Immunization Camp, PESUIMSR continues to support national public health programmes and strengthen community health outcomes. The institution remains dedicated to promoting disease prevention, advancing child health, and contributing to the creation of healthier communities for future generations.
