A three‑day Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) Programme was successfully conducted from May 26th to 28th, 2026 at the P.E.S. Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PESIMSR), Kuppam. The programme was held under the aegis of the CMC Nodal Centre, Vellore, as part of the National Medical Commission (NMC)-mandated Faculty Development Programme.
Building Capacity in Medical Education
The BCME Programme is a flagship initiative of the National Medical Commission aimed at equipping medical educators with essential competencies required to effectively implement the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum. A total of 30 faculty members from various departments at PESIMSR participated in this intensive three‑day workshop. All participants successfully completed the prescribed sessions, interactive activities, and competency‑building exercises.
